Legendary Essex Note: ‘Ocean of Crazyness’ by this 8 year old artist at Flitch Green Academy is inspired by the Lost Church under the Sea, where the bells are reported to toll under the waves at The original All Saints Church in Walton-on-the-Naze succumbed to coastal erosion, disappearing into the waves around 1798. The “Lost Town” project is a public art installation by two German architects commemorating lost towns and churches in the East of England, including the one in Walton-on-the-Naze. It is a symbolic structure in the sea, not a real church
