Walton Naze Tower ( https://www.nazetower.co.uk/) was built in 1720. First used to guide ships. Became a tea house in 18th Century. Then used during Napoleonic wars, served as a lookout point. In World War 2 it was used as a radar station. Many people have seen a middle age mysterious ghost woman standing at the tower window looking out to sea. The bird box was put up in the 1960’s by my Grandfather Roger Weston, who used ladders tied together to place it.
Legendary Essex Note: The kestrels in the towers bird box can be viewed through a birdbox cam at the tower.
