This collage and print monotype was Inspired by an intriguing 12th Century Tale of a green skinned brother and sister who appeared suddenly in Woolpit in Suffolk speaking a strange language. The boy died young and the girl grew up very ‘wanton and impudent’. After learning English Agnes explained  they had come from a land where the sun never shone, and was ever twilight, and everything was green. I printed Agnes from an oat milk tetrapak at Curwen Print Study Centre. Her features were inspired by the greek statues on Museum Island in Berlin that had a unsettlingly life like quality. To me she is a feminine green man, A Beltane goddess. Jessica Pearce
