15 years ago my Dad emptied the well in the garden and below a lot of sludge he pulled from the bottom a sword about 1 metre long. It was so rusty it broke into pieces. After this he pulled poison bottle after poison bottle from the same well, about two buckets full of glass bottles with poison written on some. There is written evidence of King Henry VIII passing through the area so we always used to wonder who’s it could be. It is 100 years of the house being built but the well was there before.
